The fog

The sea fog is a well known phenomena in Lofoten, and is most common in early summer. This is mainly “adveksjonståke” (norw.), which is formed when warm air flows over the colder surface. The air is cooled and the humidity increases. If the air becomes saturated (100% humidity), we get fog. It is especially in the first part of the summer, when the sea is still low, that the Lofoten islands are prone to fog. In the latter part of summer, the sea temperature is higher and the air temperature does not drop this much.
